  • Central Florida Gas officially became a division of Florida Public Utilities in March 2011, serving customers in the West/Central Florida area
  • In August 2010, FPU purchased the natural gas operating assets of Indiantown Gas Company. FPU now serves approximately 700 residential customers and several commercial customers in Indiantown, Florida
  • In December 2011, FPU purchased Crescent Propane, providing Newberry, Florida and its surrounding areas with propane service
  • Barefoot Bay, a community propane gas system in Indian River County, became another of FPU’s propane acquisitions in February 2012
  • On August 21, 2012, FPU was granted a non-exclusive franchise to provide natural gas distribution services within the City of Okeechobee. The thirty-year agreement enables FPU to bring natural gas service to both residential and commercial customers
  • In February 2013, FPU purchased the operating assets of Glades Gas Company in Okeechobee and Clewiston, Florida
  • On December 2, 2013, FPU acquired the natural gas distribution and operating system from the City of Fort Meade
  • Peninsula Pipeline Company, an intrastate pipeline company in Florida, operates alongside FPU under the Chesapeake umbrella
  • FPU acquired the propane operating assets of Covenant Propane, thus enabling FPU to expand its propane footprint to Inglis, FL
  • Flo-Gas Corporation, a propane subsidiary of FPU, has played an instrumental role in the acquisition of such companies as Crescent Propane and Glades Gas Company
  • In August 2017, FPU went on to acquire the propane operating assets of Chipola Propane Gas Company Inc., enabling the Company to expand its propane service to Marianna, FL
