Energy Smart Colorado is now a collaboration of 10 community partners serving 25 Colorado counties whose collective goal is to make residential and commercial energy efficiency improvements simple and affordable while advancing community-based goals for energy efficiency or climate action.
Through ESC’s community partners, homeowners and businesses are provided with energy assessments, coaching on energy recommendations, access to financing (including rebates and loans), and connections to local contractors.

Home Energy Assessment

Interested homeowners can schedule a reduced-cost home energy assessment with a qualified Energy Smart Analyst who will come to the home and perform a comprehensive home safety and energy assessment. There are a variety of free improvements the Energy Smart Analyst may install at the time of the assessment including a programmable thermostat, efficient lighting, hot and cold water pipe insulation, a hot water tank insulation blanket, and door weather-stripping.

Rebates

In addition to the Home Energy Assessment, the homeowner may also be eligible to receive an Energy Smart rebate. Energy Smart provides direct rebates for energy improvement projects and also maintains up-to-date information on other financial incentives from utilities, state and local governments, and federal tax credits. Commercial rebates are also available through ESC partners.

Financing

The Colorado Residential Energy Upgrade (RENU) Loan program is a statewide residential loan program sponsored by the Colorado Energy Office, in partnership with Elevations Credit Union. It makes home energy upgrades easy and affordable by offering low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements. For more information click here.
