In 1989, after years of desiring to live an independent lifestyle, I purchased 80 acres in rural East San Diego County.  My goal was to be self sufficient, raising my own food and providing for most city services on site.

At that time solar was seldom used except for situations and locations like mine. Solar electric contractors were virtually nonexistent and there were few companies providing solar panels to individual property owners like us.  Nonetheless I was able to locate a manufacturer who would supply us with solar panels. In 2006 we were approached by Sunpower Corporation to become a dealer for their products.
