Solar Panels Installed at UC Boulder

Solar panels were installed at the University of Colorado at Boulder and they will produce 140,000 kilowatt-hours of energy per year, enough to power 20 houses.  The solar energy generated will go back into the buildings that hold the panels.  Additionally, the energy produced will help contribute to Colorado's state use of renewable energy. In 2004, Colorado Amendment 37 mandated 20% use of renewable energy statewide by 2020.

Three Buildings on campus received a total of 472 solar panels.  UC Boulder's energy conservation officer Moe Tabrizi is "working toward solar panel installation on every flat roof on campus but Xcel Energy limits the amount of incentives accrued by one property
