Envision Solar to present to Cadillac dealers

Envision SolarEnvision Solar will introduce Cadillac dealers around the country to a Solar Tree specially designed for the luxury car brand today.

Cadillac dealers from around the country are gathered for a dealer meeting in Las Vegas. Most will have never seen or heard of Envision’s unique Solar Trees before.

The trees are concrete pillars topped with dual-axis solar tracking photovoltaic panels.

Cadillac and California-based Envision entered into an arrangement at the end of 2011 for Envision to design and build a custom tree for Cadillac.

Envision has already deployed one of those trees at a Cadillac dealership in the San Francisco Bay area, but will present the option to other dealers around the country today.

“This is a great opportunity to meet personally with Cadillac Dealerships from across the country,” said Desmond Wheatley, Envision’s CEO. “Together we have created the most advanced Solar Tree yet.”

Envision has been working to modularize its trees so they can be installed quickly and with limited disruption to a business.

“With a car dealership, you can’t have the parking lot torn up for weeks,” Wheatley said.

With each modularization step, the company has shaved days off of installation time. One of the most recent fully-modularized installations took only four days, Wheatley said.

In addition to engineering the trees for quick installation, Envision worked with Cadillac to develop an attractive and captivating design for the dealership’s custom tree.

“The Solar Tree beautifully provides shade and renewable energy in the dealership lot,” said Mike Johnson, Cadillac’s dealer network manager, “which is good for customers and for our ongoing sustainability efforts.”
