Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system, electricity production begins with the solar panel, or module. Each module is made up of a series of cells composed of chemically-saturated silicon and is mounted in an orientation that maximizes solar exposure and minimizes shading. When sunlight reaches the panel, the photons traveling within the sun light react with the silicon in the panel creating a flow of electrons between the cells. This flow of electrons creates an electrical current which is then transmitted to the inverter in DC form through conductive cables.

Solar energy is on everyone's mind and has become a major issue in economics and politics and is an ongoing focus of environmentalists. New legislation is passed continuously that affects commercial customers and residential customers of solar energy alike. Here are some of the most recent updates in the solar energy industry: Solar energy is on everyone's mind and has become a major issue in economics and politics and is an ongoing focus of environmentalists. New legislation is passed continuously that affects commercial customers and residential customers of solar energy alike. Here are some of the most recent updates in the solar energy industry: The inverter converts this DC power into AC electricity by passing it through a series of transformers and resistors and then feeds the electricity directly back into the building through the main circuit breaker panel.   Any excess power not immediately used by the host building is then automatically pushed upstream directly into the municipal electric power grid, causing the attached meter to run in reverse.  Any excess power absorbed by the grid is then reflected on a statement furnished by the utility company and provided to the Solar PV system’s owner on a monthly basis.  The excess electricity is displayed on the statement as a credit, and is then available to the Owner for use during any time that the host building requires more power than the system is producing.
